Made from ground 70% dark bean to bar chocolate, with satisfying tasting notes of hazelnuts and subtle malt. Foundry Drinking Chocolate is delicious made with water, milk or the plant based milk of your choice.

This rich, bean to bar, craft drinking chocolate began with cacao beans grown by the expert farmers of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Then in our little foundry, we crafted the cacao together with only one other ingredient; organic cane sugar, to create a chocolate that accentuates the harvest’s complex character. Two ingredients, nothing else. Luxury in every sip. Enjoy.

The drinking chocolate is packaged in a home compostable resealable pouch.

This is pure, whole chocolate, not a mixture of powders like most hot chocolate drinks. As it contains cocoa butter, we recommend heating the chocolate and milk (or water) together in a pan on the stove. Mix vigorously with a spoon or - even better - using a stick blender.

250g - makes around ten cups of drinking chocolate.

Origin Information

Diana from Cathliro works directly with over two-hundred farming families from villages in Central Guadalcanal, primarily working with women (70% of farmers are women). The farmers are paid cash upon weighing of the wet beans in the village. Cathliro then takes the beans into their location in Honiara and ferments and sun-dries the beans. Cathliro works directly with the villages in giving back and in educating the farmer families on tree management, health, farm management, saving schemes, sanitation and how to use cocoa as a food and sell their cacao locally in the villages.

The Cacao Ambassador, based in NZ, works with Diana of Cathliro in ensuring the highest quality in each step, from pruning, to fermentation, to sun-drying, and is a bridge to chocolate makers, ensuring that the on the ground care is taking place with the farmers.
