This cacao thrives at the foot of lush forested hills in Vietnam’s central highlands. Lâm Đȏng Province’s cool mountains yield a mild chocolate, but look alive for traces of prune, raisin and espresso. The snap and melt on this bar are extremely good, and when the flavour comes on strong your palette is enveloped with rich earthy cocoa tones. 

Marou crafts all of their chocolate in Saigon using purely Vietnamese ingredients of the highest quality. If you haven’t been following Marou’s single-origin efforts, they produce rare and delicate dark chocolate bars featuring cacao from several different provinces of Vietnam. Each of these bars offer a flavour journey utterly unique to that province. This micro batch’s beans were cultivated in hilly woodland at the edge of the Vietnamese Central Highlands between Madagul and Dao Loc.
