This wonderfully smooth dark chocolate offers a host of complex flavour notes. We tasted subtle nutty and fruity notes along with treacle and espresso atop a foundation of old school chocolate. A very satisfying bar.
East Kalimantan, Indonesia
The beans in this bar have been sourced from Berau Cocoa, a cooperative founded in 2018 in the East Kalimantan region of Indonesia. East Kalimantan was once the leading cocoa-producing region in the country, until an outbreak of black pod disease in the 1990s destroyed the local cocoa tree population. The Berau Cocoa cooperative was founded to preserve and expand this population, and to present a viable alternative source of income for people in this region now dominated by the coal industry.
