Raglan Chocolate using Pacific cacao brings loads of flavour with this single-origin Papua New Guinea 70% dark chocolate, using cacao from the Manabu Plantation!
A really complex chocolate with very satisfying distinct notes ranging from prune, cashew nut, citrus and sour cherry, then some dark sugar notes on the tail.
The cacao beans from Kingstan Kamuri's Manabu Plantation, near Port Moresby in Central Province, Papua New Guinea, are some of the Pacific's finest. This region grew a large volume of Cacao up until the 1980s when the market in Europe fell away. Now, a large amount of Cacao grows wild in the jungles!
Work has been done to establish plantations for the cultivation of fine flavour cacao, empowering local farmers to serve the craft chocolate market via open supply chain and earn a fair wage for their efforts and expertise.
